[Sneaking into cabins, peering into windows, leaping over the heads of passengers is Spring-Heeled Jack.

He visits naughty children, peeking in at night to watch them sleep, and then he's off again just as fast as he came.

Dressed in black with long claws and keen to play some wicked pranks goes Mason, more of a mischievous spirit than anyone willing to cause serious harm.

[He's wiry and thin as anything, but deceptively strong; a skeletal creature in torn black clothing.

Mindy is a lot bigger than the children he's used to carrying off, though, and he staggers under her weight, attempting to lift her over a shoulder for easier carry.

God, what did he just get himself into? This girl was a maniac - not an easy pick at all!]

[ There's kicking and spitting and struggling. ]

[ Also, biting. Needy is a kicker, they said -- but Mindy? Not afraid to grab hold of a bit of ragged shirt, and try and find some spare bit of muscle in which to sink her teeth. ]

[ Those Macready kids are mean little fuckers. ]

[With an unearthly shriek, Mason has no choice but to drop Mindy as she tears into him. Not good! Not good at all!

He leaps at his prey now with claws out, angry and anxious to take the fight out of her. There's no way he can carry her off like this, but he's willing to give it one last shot before cutting losses.]

[ Things she is not used to: claws that catch! So the standard parry just ends up with Mindy's arms lacerated and blood going everywhere, and Mindy shrieking her rage incoherently. She's not fighting smart -- she's fighting wild and angry, all the build up of the past few months rushing out in kicks and punches that her father would be ashamed of, would drill her harder for. ]

[ Right now she doesn't care. This isn't about being efficient. This is about her being angry and finally giving vent to all the issues she's been bottling for a while now. ]

[Ow ow ow! Mason may have claws that tear and scratch, but Mindy is a berserker with rage to spare, and eventually all his bruises no longer become worth it. He's wounded soon, a good, hard kick landing squarely on his shoulder and causing him to sprawl away.

He looks at the girl in disbelief, before gathering himself up and leaping away from her. Screw this; he'll pick off some easy five-year-old instead. Rescue him from teenagers!]

[ Mindy kicks and screams and hurls invective after him, half-pursuing him down the hall despite that she's ripped up and bleeding... but in the end she's left angry and tear-streaked and hurting, and limps back to her room to ruin some clothes and patch herself up. ]

[ Damned if she'll ask for help from anyone. Fuck that. Fuck this whole place! She hates it here. ]
